Combustion

I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

I had a little flame, nothing but a flicker
It was barely alive, I don’t see how it survived
All those years it stayed just a little flame
But then I caught on something true
Now I’m burning just for you!

And I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

My little flame has grown; it’s a roaring bonfire
It’s just like a disease except it strengthens me
Recently it’s changed from that little flame
Now there’s a fire in my blood
And I’m burning for the one above!

Now I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

And I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true… I’m on fire.

A Different Kitchen

The spices of life are stuffed in a cabinet
Unopened, unused as Satan would have it.
The taste in this kitchen is disgusting and bland
This nasty flavor has no effect on man.
Is this kitchen the one in your home?
Not touching, but leaving the world all alone.
Most people do not give the right key
To open the cabinet and set people free
I will for your sake and for the world’s
For the life of a man, woman, boy or girl
Believe in your soul and pray in your heart
“Dear Jesus, come in and set me apart
I believe that you died on a murderous tree
To save everyone, including me
I believe that you came back from the grave
To guard, protect, conquer and save
The people of every culture and tongue
No matter the age, the old and the young.”
Now this kitchen is different, the spices in use
Flavoring the world with nothing to lose
This kitchen is delicious, and very real
It is affecting our world with a tasty appeal.

Imperfection

I cram my life full of stuff
But all I do is never enough
I want to be perfect but I can’t
I’m always so… defiant
I can never do what’s required of me
I can’t live up, why don’t you see?

Imperfection is what you asked for
Imperfection is what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Imperfection is what I’ve got

You want what’s broken, empty, and dry
You want me too, even though I lie
You are so perfect and want what’s not
You don’t want some perfect robot
I’m not perfect, God, it’s true
Come on, please draw me to you

Imperfection is what you asked for
Imperfection is what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Imperfection is what I’ve got

All I can give is Imperfection
Come on, God, that’s what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Can you please use what I’ve got?

Satisfaction

Why can’t we be content or satisfied?
What are we missing? What can’t we find?
There’s a hole in my soul that I can’t seem to fill
I’ve got no purpose; I’m empty and ill
About everything that ever comes my way
Nothing clicks or is here to stay

Satisfaction is what we’re after
Contentment is what we all need.
Everything we’ve got doesn’t really matter
Something is missing that shouldn’t Continue reading

Anger

It completely devours
Eats away until I’m gone
It controls who I am
Making me bitter
It consumes my body
Fills every thought
It’s constantly waging
War with my heart
It influences choices
I say the wrong things
It pushes people away
Even the ones that I love
It changes me
From the inside out
It takes EVERYTHING
I ever held close.

Heart Disease

I know this girl, she was doing fine
At least she was for a time
She tried something new or so she thought
And heart disease is what she caught
Hey! She is lost and all alone
Out in the unknown
She doesn’t know what to do

I’ve seen it happen tons before
But never this close to my heart’s door
I cannot do a thing
It hurts to see Continue reading

Always

light and dark
contrast, compare
evil and good
they are always there

dry and wet
different, the same
cold and hot
there is always pain

empty and full
opposites, alike
peace and war
there is always some spite

birth and death
below, above
joy and sorrow
there is always love

Mirror, Mirror

“Mirror, mirror on the wall”
Now what’s up with that?
“Who’s the fairest of them all?”
That tells me where you’re at.

If you’re stuck in front of your mirror
You know it can’t be healthy
There is a way to see life a lot clearer
And it will not be so deadly
Mirrorism is a term
It has no definition
It will make you twitch and squirm
And alter your position Continue reading

Light

You have a glow
That needs to grow
You have a light
Now make it bright
Make it big for the world to see
Let it shine through you, straight to me
To her, to him
Let it shine to them
To every nation and people
From a hut to a steeple
To the youngest of children, the oldest of old
You have a light and a hope that none should withhold
Now I ask for you to give
Your light to the world, that they may live
It is your choice, your own, not mine
But whatever you do will affect all time.
