Photocopier

I want to be your photocopy
I want us to have lines of symmetry
I want us to be exactly the same
That is what I work for everyday

Come on, come on let us be the same
Come on, come on let me follow your steps
Come on, come on I want to live this way
Living life to the very best

I want to be your photocopy
I want to know that you love me
I want us to be together always
Living in love for the rest of my days

Come on, come on let us be the same
Come on, come on let me follow your steps
Come on, come on I want to live this way
Living life to the very best

Photocopying is the way to go
It gives me purpose when I’m feeling low
I’ll continue copying till my time is through
Then I’ll be perfect like you

Come on, come on let us be the same
Come on, come on let me follow your steps
Come on, come on I want to live this way
Living life to the very best

I’m not perfect, but you are
Photocopying will get us far
I want to copy you and no one else
So I can live my life to its very best

Come on, come on let us be the same
Come on, come on let me follow your steps
Come on, come on I want to live this way
Living life to the very best
Living life to the very best
Living life
To the very best

Chosen Child (A special song for Katie)

A little girl sings
Just a daydream
An imagination
Of who she wants to be
When she’s grown
She will dance
She will fly
She will soar, by and by
Her future’s open
God’s chosen child

She can move mountains
With her life in His hands
She is so special
Chosen, loved and beautiful

A young lady sings
Just a daydream
An imagination
Of who she’s gonna be
When she’s grown
She has a purpose
And she will go
She will change the whole world
She is called as
God’s chosen child

She can move mountains
With her life in His hands
She is so special
Chosen, loved and beautiful

A grown woman sings
Just a daydream
An imagination
Of who she wants to be
Now she’s grown
She has memories
And she’ll make more
There’s a world to be loved
For they can be
God’s chosen child

She can move mountains
With her life in His hands
She is so special
Chosen, loved and beautiful

A gray maiden sings
Just a daydream
An imagination
Of who you can be
Before you’re grown
You have a purpose
You are unique
You can change the whole world
You are called
God’s chosen child

You can move mountains
With your life in His hands
You are so special
Chosen, loved and beautiful

You can move mountains
With your life in His hands
You are so special
Chosen, loved and beautiful

Stand

This morning, I woke up and entered the battle.
My armor was strong from the Lord.
My sword, it was sharpened. My hand at the ready.
The shield was awaiting my arm.
The forces attack from every direction.
I feel overwhelmed, but God’s got back.
So I will stand here in this fight.

I will stand as my God gets the glory
I will stand and praise His holy name
I will sing of His infinite mercy
I will stand in this war here today
I will stand in this war here today

I am one who has seen the affliction
That dwells in the darkness like the dead.
I once lived without any purpose.
All for myself, but that is behind me.
The Lord now is my infinite portion.
I will wait on His every breath.
He will win. Of that I am certain.
So I will stand.
We will stand.

We will stand as our God gets the glory
We will stand and praise His holy name
We will sing of His infinite mercy
We will stand in this war here today
We will stand in this war here today

This fight is against invisible warriors.
Forces not seen, but surely real.
As we stand, the Lord is our protection.
Guarding us in every ordeal.
Our enemies will scatter before us in seven.
They will rise and surely be defeated.
So I will stand.
We will stand.

We will stand as our God wins the victory
We will stand and praise His holy name
We will sing of His infinite mercy
We will stand in this war here today

We will stand as our God gets the glory
We will stand and praise His holy name
We will sing of His infinite mercy
We will stand in this war here today
We will stand in this war here today

“I say to myself
The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
– Lamentations 3:24

“The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.”
– Deuteronomy 28:7

Combustion

I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

I had a little flame, nothing but a flicker
It was barely alive, I don’t see how it survived
All those years it stayed just a little flame
But then I caught on something true
Now I’m burning just for you!

And I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

My little flame has grown; it’s a roaring bonfire
It’s just like a disease except it strengthens me
Recently it’s changed from that little flame
Now there’s a fire in my blood
And I’m burning for the one above!

Now I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true.

And I’m on Fire!
I’m burning, I’m burning, I’m burning for you!
Cause I’m on fire! Yes God, you know it’s true… I’m on fire.

Imperfection

I cram my life full of stuff
But all I do is never enough
I want to be perfect but I can’t
I’m always so… defiant
I can never do what’s required of me
I can’t live up, why don’t you see?

Imperfection is what you asked for
Imperfection is what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Imperfection is what I’ve got

You want what’s broken, empty, and dry
You want me too, even though I lie
You are so perfect and want what’s not
You don’t want some perfect robot
I’m not perfect, God, it’s true
Come on, please draw me to you

Imperfection is what you asked for
Imperfection is what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Imperfection is what I’ve got

All I can give is Imperfection
Come on, God, that’s what you want
Imperfection is what I’m full of
Can you please use what I’ve got?

So Mournful The Elegy, So Comforting The Hymn

A friend of mine posted this song and it struck something in me. Worry has eaten me alive before. The anxiety that literally leads to physical sickness, antisocial behaviors, and deep depression complete with crying, loss of appetite, and avoidance of conversation. I’m not that way now, but I’ve been there before and have no desire to go back. Being there yourself is hard, but even harder than that is watching those you love (friends AND family) face the same dragon of despair.
