I realize that this is not the promised post from yesterday, but it is pretty cool. I found out this morning that one of my favorite authors (Ted Dekker) is giving away free copies of his book Black!! The e-reader version is completely free for download. If you don’t have one of those, then his paperback version is for sale for $2.99. I bought the book back when they only sold the first three in the series for like $20 so this is a really good deal, especially if you take the free option. And really, who doesn’t like the option of getting a free book?
Here’s an advert from the book:
Enter an adrenaline-laced epic where dreams and reality collide.
Fleeing his assailants through deserted alleyways, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of a building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head…and his world goes black.
From the blackness comes an amazing reality of another world-a world where evil is contained. A world where Thomas Hunter is in love with a beautiful woman. Then he remembers the dream of the chase as he reaches to touch the blood on his head.
Where does the dream end and reality begin? Every time he falls asleep in one world, he awakes in the other-both facing catastrophic disaster. Thomas is being pushed beyond his limits…even beyond the limits of space and time.
Black is an incredible story of evil and rescue, betrayal and love, pursuit and death, and a terrorist’s threat unlike anything the human race has ever known.
Some say the world hangs in the balance of every choice we make. Now the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance of one man’s choice.
So there you go. The book is better than it sounds. Fair warning though, it has some creepy bats at the beginning of it that completely freaked me out. But then I probably shouldn’t have been reading it late at night while babysitting a kid in a house I’d never been to before. My imagination fully had the bats eating me like they were trying to do in the book. *sigh*
You can get the book from this link. Oh and I suppose I should also say that I am in no way being paid by Ted Dekker or anyone affiliated with him. I just like to support the things and people I like. And I like to pass on good deals when I find them. Kinda like when the Rubber Ducky Sale is on at Bath & Body and I post a facebook status about it. Share the love, you know :) I hope you get to enjoy the book I much as I have!!!
ps. if you didn’t remember reading it, you can read my other post about him here.
